First of all, if you haven’t been to Pong then you’re doing it wrong… but in all seriousness, this place is awesome. The space is huge (10,0000 sq feet to be exact), looks great, and the atmosphere is beyond amazing. Who doesn’t want to play a few games of ping pong while enjoying a couple of drinks with your friends. And for the icing on top.. organized league nights! So rally up your crew and start practicing!

 

Popular times: Friday and Saturday nights. Wednesday nights are also students nights.

Architect Hair Design (324 James St North)

 

This place continues to get quite the hype on a regular basis, and there’s no wonder why. It’s a barbershop, a bar, and a meeting place all in one. Mix the comfort of your traditional barbershop with a few drinks to relax you even more and there you have Architect Hair Design. Throw in a few organized events every month (which they do) and it’s a no-brainer why this place is a unique Hamilton venue.

Popular times: Tuesday evenings (games night), Friday nights (especially on Art Crawl nights), and Saturday all day.

Mississippi Queen Foods (635 King St. East)

 

Home of the Southern Supper Series events, Mississippi Queen Foods always makes for an intimate evening of authentic, southern style hospitality. Each supper event features a set, southern menu, paired with the musical talents of Blues and ‘American Roots’ musicians. Gameopolis is Hamilton’s first board game lounge. For only $5 a person, you can play 800+ board games with no time limit at all. They also serve local coffees, teas, and of course beers to help keep you focused on your games!

The Cotton Factory (270 Sherman Ave)

 

In the heart of lower Hamilton, this former industrial building from 1900 is a prime example of adaptive reuse. It has been transformed from a cotton mill into a creative industries complex, with space for workshops, galleries, office space for creative professionals, and studios for artists. Filmmakers, photographers and special events are also drawn to the building by its unique aesthetic and its historic charm.

Arts & Sciences Brewery (207 Burlington St E)

 

The old Lakeport facility, now called the Arts & Science brewery is a joint brewing facility split between 2 local breweries: Collective Arts Brewing based out of Hamilton (which also has their retail shop setup here) and Nickel Brook Brewing Co. based out of Burlington. In addition to being the home of beer production and Collective Arts’ retail shop (which is pretty damn sweet itself), this brewing facility also turns into an event venue quite often. Some past events include: Supercrawl after party, Brewery launch party, and of course brewery tours!

Popular times: It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!

Flying Squirrel (1550 Upper James St)

 

Now officially open! Flying Squirrel is the largest and best indoor fun park in the area. Attractions include: 3 trampoline dodgeball courts, a freestyle trampoline court, two foam pits, trampoline dunk hoops, a freestyle version of tight rope, a ninja court, fidget ladders, and the drey bar and cafe.
