Hey guys, welcome back to Comedy in the Hammer! As always we sit down with a local comedian and let you know what shows are happening in the city this week!
This week I’m joined by local comedian Jordan Hoath!
MS: How long have you been doing stand up for?
JH: Just over 3 years
MS: What’s your favourite room to perform at in the city?
JH: Hmmm…I love every venue ad host equally. But if I didn’t I would say i always enjoy Baltimore House. Never the same audience or feel.
MS: How do you usually deal with hecklers?
JH: Engage. Sure it backfires on occasion, but sometimes hecklers are amazing material and will even play along. Other times they scream “Free Palestine!” and rush the stage
MS: What advice would you give newer comics?
JH: Best advice I got (and still need) is to do every show, every time you can. Don’t say no to any show because the only way to get better is stage time. Write, practice, watch other comics. But without stage time you will never improve.
MS: What’s the one joke you’ve tried over and over again to make work but whatever reason cannot get right?
JH: Anything to do with Bears. No one ever finds them funny except me but I will crack that code.
MS: Where can we check you out online?
JH: I have a terribly limited online presence but my twitter is @el_hoatho Are there any videos we can see online? My YouTube channel has a few performances and assorted nonsense.
