1 | Bar Fight Champions

Uno Mas in collaboration with Liquid Kitty present BAR FIGHT CHAMPIONS. Chef Scott Bailey (City Farm Catering) and Chef Dmitry Perov (Brux House) go head to head in a 3 round bar-burner to see who can create the best cocktail experiences! The night will be MC’d by Chef Manny Ferreira (Mezcal TNTUno Mas BarChopped Canada) and three local culinary experts will sit on the judging panel. The audience will get to sample the final round’s cocktails and help decide the WINNER!

2 | Here’s Johnny

Produced by Hamilton based company Flat Earth Global. In this 90 minute show, Nick Wallace uses story telling and illusions to explore the world of conspiracy theories, superstitions, psychics and all things STRANGE AND UNUSUAL. Nick Wallace has been described as a Master of subtle illusion and manipulation. He can best be described as a minimalist – who has forgone fancy props and special effects and prefers to conjure with an audiences imagination by presenting magic and mind reading in a way that is both entertaining and thought provoking.

 

4 | Absolute AWE

For all of you [indie] wrestling fans out there, this one’s for you. On October 15th, Hamilton-based Indie wrestling promotion, Absolute Wrestling Entertainment, host their inaugural event! The event features 7 scheduled matches including an appearance from Hamilton talent RIP Impact of Hamilton Pro Wrestling.

 

5 | HamOnt for Hanley – A Tribute for Dave Hanley

Event Date(s): October 15th

Location: King William Street

HamOnt for Hanley is a jazz festival, memorial, & fundraiser for Hamilton’s Pop Up King, Dave Hanley. Join the areas top chefs, craft breweries, wineries, mixologists, pastry chefs and jazz musicians who have all come together donating their time and energy to help raise funds and pay tribute to Dave and his family. There will also be a Silent Auction will a number of fantastic prizes donated by a number of business and individuals who all knew and loved Dave! Tickets include admission, all your food and one drink ticket. All funds raised will be donated to Dave’s family.

6 | NOSH Chef Wars presented by The Kraken® Black Spiced Rum

7 | Hamilton Fashion Week

The 4th annual Hamilton Fashion Week is a fashion celebration featuring runway shows from numerous top Hamilton and Canadian fashion designers. As with previous years, HFW 2017 will be hosted at Digital Canaries on 520 Burlington East and will include a Fashion Matinee, Gala, Brunch and a Soiree.

8 | gritLIT Fall Festival

Event Date(s): October 22nd

Location: The Staircase Theatre

Admission: $7.00 – $25.00 depending on event

 

Now officially in its 14th year, gritLIT: Hamilton’s Readers & Writers Festival is looking to build on its foundation by offering a new Fall Program. This new program includes partnered events with the HPO and the Hamilton Film Festival, putting a unique spin on their events and really fostering community collaboration. October 22 is a full day of Hamilton-centric readings, featuring local authors, themes and indigenous content, with Zoe Whittall, Sally Cooper, John Terpstra, Shannon Bramer, Daniel Coleman, Cherie Dimaline and Lee Maracle.

 

9 | Steel City Jazz Festival

This year, the 5th annual Steel City Jazz Festival returns to Hamilton and brings back the one-weekend format with some incredible programming. The festival is known for attracting and bringing well-known, talented jazz musicians and this year will be nothing short of that.
