The 12th Annual Hamilton Film Festival

The 12th Annual Hamilton Film Festival

The 12th Annual Hamilton Film Festival: MUSIC

It’s back!

The Hamilton Film Festival in it’s 12th year has returned with an incredible theme for this year’s festival.

For those who don’t (or do) know, the Hamilton Film Festival is an Internationally known and locally focused annual event that takes place every year in November in Hamilton. In its 12th year, the festival will be taking place from November 4th to November 12th. All screenings and events will be happening at various Hamilton Venues, around the downtown core (with an expansion in Burlington this year!).

The 12th annual Hamilton Film Festival screens a juried selection of local & international independent films. In previous years, the festival has hosted filmmakers travelling to the event from Australia, Austria, Cyprus, France, Germany, Italy, US and all across Canada. Being a locally focused festival, the festival’s mandate always makes sure that Hamilton-based filmmakers have a place to screen, network and learn.

And what about this year’s theme? Glad you asked!

This year’s theme is MUSIC (as you might have guessed from the guitar picks)! This include live music, panels, spotlight on film scores, movies with a music theme and more! Look for the guitar pick in the schedule to see the movies that have strong music theme!

So if you’re someone who appreciates great movies and loves supporting local talent, then this is your type of festival.

Actually, the HFF is for everyone and here’s why:

Events and Screenings

The 12th Annual Hamilton Film Festival doesn’t just include film screenings, it also encompasses concerts, galas, pop-up screenings and the Canadian Film Market, making it a must-attend event for everyone.

Although with 150 films alone, we’d be more than alright with the screenings alone. And yes, you read that correctly. 150 screenings!

Confirmed venues are: The ZoeticStaircase TheatreElaine Mae Theatre, Right On Target (pop-up location at the old Target on Barton), the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel and Cinestarz Burlington.

Locally Focused, Internationally Known

The Hamilton Film Festival features both local and international filmmakers, giving you the best of both worlds. Why settle on one or the other when you can have both… Thanks HFF!

There’s Something for Everyone

With 3 concerts, 150 events and screenings, pop up family screening in former Target on Barton (Right on Target) , industry development opportunities, expansion into Burlington, a mix of International and Local talent, there’s literally something for everyone. Not to mention there is a huge and diverse selection of films  including local, international, LGBTQ, indigenous, female lead films, movies made by kids, comedy, shorts and more!
