YogaFest 2016: For the mind, body and soul

Yoga Fest Gage Park

YogaFest at A Midsummer’s Dream: A must-experience, all day Yoga Festival.

YogaFest is a non-profit organization that strives to inspire yoga and conscious living. YogaFest provides a yoga festival taking place each year (returning for its second year on August 20th) in collaboration with A Midsummer’s Dream colour festival at Gage Park in Hamilton, ON. The festival creates a space for self expression and self realization, a space where all are welcome to be themselves.

This year, YogaFest has created unique, new spaces, allowing you to dive fully into your practice, experience something new, and connect with the community around you.

Yoga Garden

The “Yoga Garden” will be the main space where all of the yoga sessions will be held, provided by local yoga studios. According to YogaFest, “This is a magical garden, where yogi’s gather together in unity, to practice and celebrate a day of tranquility and deep connection, to the self and to each other”. This main area will be surrounded by flowers, colours, and unique décor. Staring up into the bright blue sky and being surrounded by tranquil atmosphere will make you will feel as though you are in a different world, on a journey to the divine. From beginner level 1 classes, to acro yoga, from gentle hatha flows to inversions and vinyasas! There is a class for everyone and a community of yogis waiting for you be involved!

Zen Lounge

The “Zen Lounge” is a place where you can grow and expand your knowledge and understanding in new ways, or just be enveloped by some amazing energy. This space is very unique, with a wide variety of workshops to choose from. Whether you enjoy breathe work and meditation or tantric dancing and sound therapy, you will leave this space feeling refreshed, replenished and renewed!

Creative Arts Space

The “Creative Arts space” is designed to make the artistic experience more of a collective project, rather than an individual one. Massive canvases will be setup that allow everyone to leave their mark on a large scale painting, which will essentially be created by the Hamilton community! How awesome is that!? Imagine being surrounded by giant canvases waiting for you to throw some paint and leave your mark!

Colour Throw Festival

Youth Space

The “Youth Space” is created for the purpose of allowing younger children to be involved in the day’s activities, especially if they don’t feel comfortable in the Yoga Garden. A Yoga Obstacle Course running all day, designed to be a team building activity, to teach children how to work and play together in unity, all the while doing something healthy and active for their bodies! Yoga classes for the youth will also be made available during the festival.

In addition to the above, A Midsummer’s Dream and YogaFest will be hosting a Music Stage that will be featuring local artists all day as they share their passion and musical talents. And finally, don’t forget about the food and drink vendors that will be available all day to keep you replenished and going. On August 20th, join in on the experience as a community of individuals set out to practice, dance, sing, play and express themselves together, at YogaFest @ A Midsummer’s Dream 2016!

Registration to YogaFest is free & includes local business vendors, the creative arts space, live music performances, & the youth space.
